A. Introduction

1. Now that you have created a basic website, let’s look more closely at the two-row Wildfire Menu. This is the top-most menu of system functions.

2. We will start at the left and proceed to the right, one function at a time.

B. View website

Any time you wish to see how the website looks to the public, click on menu item View website.

1. A preview of the website appears with the page showing that was last viewed.

2. You may navigate around the website in this preview mode.

3. From the preview screen, you may return to any part of the Wildfire system via the Wildfire Menu.

C. Setup

Click on menu item Setup to enter background data and make basic choices about the website.

There are six sub-menu items.

1. Initial setup – This returns you to the "Initial Setup Guide" (see Chapter 2).

2. Home page – This screen allows you to designate the Home page for your website.

This action is fully explained in Unit 03, Chapter 5.

3. Copyright – Enter various details about the ownership of the website and its contents.

a) “This website is sponsored by…” provides the name of the sponsoring organization or sponsoring person (required).

b) “Website address (domain name) of sponsor” The website sponsor may have another website of their own. If so, that domain name can go here.

c) “For information about this website, email: …” This is required contact information. It could be an email address for the sponsoring organization or an email address for the Website Manager. That email address could be your own or one supplied by Kalaam Media related to the website domain name. (For information about an email address supplied by Kalaam Media, ask your Implementation Manager.)

d) “Unless noted otherwise, copyright for all materials is held by…” This gives the name of the copyright holder for most of the materials on the website.

e) “Other information - ______” is used to enter information about media items on the website whose copyright is owned by others not covered by previous statements.

(1) It is very important to properly acknowledge the copyright holder (owner) of all materials published on a website. (Review Unit 01, Chapter 13, for a full explanation of copyrights.)

(2) Write this information in each Navigation Language by clicking on the language selector links at the left.

f) Click on the button Save.

4. Scripture references – You may wish to use an alternate order of the books of the Bible on your website. You can make those changes here. (The best option is to leave it as is.)

a) Move the mouse cursor over the four-pointed arrow to the left of a book name.

b) Click and hold.

c) Drag the arrow up or down to the desired position.

d) Release the click.

e) Scroll down on the screen to see all the books of the Old and New Testaments.

f) When you change the position of books on the chart, a warning message appears, prompting you to save your changes.

g) Click on the button Save at the bottom left of the screen.

D. Work with pages

Click on menu item Work with pages to edit existing website pages, add new pages, and change the website menu.

There are two sub-menu items.

E. Work with media

Click on menu item Work with media to upload files and prepare them for use on the website.

“Media” refers to content for listening (audio files – spoken or music) and content for watching (video files).

“Files” include content for reading (in any format), images, apps, and other file types.

There are four sub-menu items.

1. Media library – Lists the audio and video items that have been added for use on your website

a) At this early stage of creating your website, you will not have any items in the Media Library. We will return here in Chapter 6.

2. Files – This is the file directory for all files uploaded to the website that are not in the Media Library.

3. Encoding queue - Shows encoding information about media files. No action is needed on this screen.

F. Style your website

Click on menu item Style your website to select or change various appearance items for the website.

Depending on the theme you have chosen, there are six to nine sub-menu items.

Many of these sub-menu items are dealt with in detail in the "Initial Setup Guide" in Chapter 2, as noted below.

1. Select a theme – See Chapter 2, Section F.

Important note when changing the website theme: If you previously selected style elements (color scheme, website logo, background image, and/or banner image) and you change the website theme, you will need to reselect these style elements (if supported in the new theme). Your previous selections are not automatically carried over to the new theme.

2. Color – See Chapter 2, Section G.

Important note when changing the website theme: If you previously selected a color scheme and you change the website theme, you will need to reselect a color scheme. Your previous selection is not automatically carried over to the new theme.

3. Website logo – See Unit 03, Chapter 5, Section F.

4. Background – See Unit 03, Chapter 5, Section H.

5. Banner – See Unit 03, Chapter 5, Section I.

6. Website name & slogan – See Chapter 2, Section J.

7. Font – See Chapter 2, Sections H and I.

a) If you need to upload new fonts, go to the section of the screen indicated above.

b) Click on the button Browse… or Choose file.

c) A small window will pop up, allowing you to search on your computer for the font file you desire. (Note: Only font types "ttf" and "woff" are accepted.)

d) Select the file, then click on the button Open. The small window closes, and the filename you have chosen now appears next to the Browse… or Choose file button.

e) Click on the button Upload to upload and save your selection.

f) Your font now appears in the table of all fonts at the right.

g) Assign your distinct font to Standard text and/or Headers.

h) Click on the button Save at the bottom of the screen.

8. Social media

Icons are displayed at the bottom of every page of your website for the social media channels that you select.

When a website visitor clicks on one of these icons, he is directed to his own account at that social media channel, where he is given the opportunity to post a link to the page on your Kalaam Media website that he has just been viewing.

a) Click on the check boxes to select the social media icons that you wish to display on your website.

b) By default, your website logo image is displayed when a visitor shares one of your pages on his or her social media page.

You may choose another image if you desire.

(1) In the boxed section of the screen titled "Share image", click on the drop-down menu that currently shows "Use website logo".

(2) Click on one of the options, Upload a new image or Choose an already uploaded file.

(3) Choose the desired image either from the files on your computer or the image files already uploaded to the website.

c) Click on the button Save.

d) For each social media channel selected, a small icon is displayed just under the page content on every page of your website.

G. Website languages

Click on menu item Website languages to add or delete Navigation Languages for the website.

There are two sub-menu items.

1. Add/modify languages

a) If you need to add a language, click on the link Add a Language.

b) To delete a language, click on the link delete at the right end of the row for that language.

c) For the remainder of the details on adding and modifying languages, see Chapter 2, Sections C-E.

2. Translate interface – See Chapter 9.

(If your website only has English as a language, you will not see this sub-menu item.)

H. Help

I. Alternate sub-menu position

If you prefer, the Wildfire sub-menu may be positioned as a vertical menu on the left side of the screen. (The main Wildfire menu remains a horizontal menu across the top of the screen.)

1. Click on the small icon at the far-right end of the Wildfire sub-menu, as indicated by the red arrow below.

2. The sub-menu is moved to the left side of the screen. The working area of the screen is smaller.

3. Click on the icon at the bottom of the sub-menu (red arrow above) to return the sub-menu to the horizontal orientation at the top of the screen.
