A. Introduction

1. IMPORTANT: Team-mates should not work on the same page at the same time.

2. If you have just completed the Wildfire "Initial Setup Guide" or just logged in to work on your website, you will be at the "Overview" screen.

a) To create a new page for your website, click on the button Add Standard Page.

3. If you are elsewhere in the Wildfire system and you wish to add a new page, click on Work with pages in the top row of the Wildfire menu, then click on Add Standard Page from the sub-menu.

B. Add or edit new page

1. The editing screen looks different depending on the number of Navigation Languages you have specified.

a) If you are creating your website with a single Navigation Language, the editing screen will have one full-width text editor box.

(1) You will create all your pages in that single language.

b) If you have exactly two Navigation Languages, you will see two text editor boxes side by side.

(1) Use the left-hand section of the editing screen to create pages in the default language.

(2) Use the right-hand section of the editing screen to create pages in your other Navigation Language.

c) If you have more than two Navigation Languages, you will see two text editor boxes side by side, and you will see a drop-down language menu above the right-hand text editor box, as marked with a red arrow in the figure below.

(1) Use the left-hand section of the editing screen to create pages in the default language.

(2) In the right-hand section of the editing screen, choose one language from the drop-down menu and complete the steps below through section D. After you have saved your work, you can return to this point and select another language.

2. Give the page a title in each Navigation Language.

3. By default, this page title will appear as a menu item on the <Main menu>. We will learn more about the website menu in Chapter 4.

4. Write text content for this page.

a) Click inside the text editing box to move your mouse cursor there.

b) Write the text that you desire.

c) Write text for this page in each Navigation Language.

d) The full functions of the text editing box are explained in Unit 03, Chapter 3.

5. We will discuss adding media to a page in Chapter 7.

6. We will discuss "Summary text" in Unit 03, Chapter 2.

7. We will discuss "Downloads" in Unit 03, Chapter 2.

8. A feedback form allows website visitors to contact you about the content on this specific page.

a) Check the box to include a feedback form (best option).

b) Leave the box unchecked to not include a feedback form.

C. Save or discard your work

At the bottom left of the editing screen, you will find three options for exiting the screen.

1. Click on the button Save and publish. If the website has been launched, the page will immediately be visible to the public.

2. Click on the button Save as draft. The page will not be visible to the public, but you will see it on the "Overview" screen.

3. With either Save option, a pop-up box may ask you to verify the language in the right-hand editing pane.

(You will only see this if you have at least three Navigation Languages.)

4. When you save your work, you will exit the "Add Standard Page" editing screen and see a preview of the public version of the page.

A green text box near the top of the screen will confirm that your new page has been created. You may click on the “X” at the top right of this box to close the box.

5. To exit the editing screen without saving your work, click on the button Cancel at bottom left.

a) A pop-up screen asks you to confirm if you want to stay on the page (and continue editing) or leave the page without saving your work.

b) Click on the button that states your choice.

c) When you cancel without saving your work, you will exit the "Add Standard Page" editing screen and return to the "Overview" screen.

D. Preview of page

1. Tabs at the top of the preview allow you to continue working on the same page.

a) Edit the page in the language shown in the preview.

b) Edit (languages) with side-by-side editing panels in the two languages listed.

c) Add a version of the page in another Navigation Language.

d) Delete the page altogether.

2. To add a new page from the preview screen, in the Wildfire menu, click on sub-menu item Add Standard Page.

E. Review your progress in creating pages

1. In the Wildfire menu, click on menu item Work with pages, then click on sub-menu item Overview.

2. The chart on the "Overview" screen will show the pages that you have created.

3. Click on the page title in blue to see a preview of the page.

4. To edit a page that is already created, click on the small pencil icon beside the page title.

F. Continue working on pages

1. To start a new page, go back to Section A of this chapter.

2. Create three more pages for your website. For practice, Save and publish two of them, and Save as draft the other one.

3. Wildfire does not permit more than 1000 pages for a single website.

4. If you have more than two Navigation Languages, you should go back and add page content in your other Navigation language(s).

a) On the chart on the "Overview" screen, click on the plus sign (+) to open the editing screen for the page in that language.
